Cloud Cases

Each case represents a conceptual perspective of a journey. The cases vary in shape and size, reflecting the  experiences and memories that remain with us. Travel changes your mind, mood and perspectives. Just as the case holds the memory, handmade paper contains  the memory of the plant fibre, a kind of palimpsest.

This year I have been making paper at the wonderful Arratos Studio in Madrid. This handmade paper has been further embellished with cyanotype, an alternative photographic process developed by sunlight.

The clouds are made from cotton, and the cases are further embellished with cyanotype on hand-stitched paper made from abaca and lokta leaves.
